Star Wars on DVD – 2004!

The Digital Bits, one of the better DVD news sites on the web, is reporting in their Rumor Mill that the Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes IV – VI) will hit DVD for Christmas next year.

They report that Lucasfilm is so happy with the upcoming Indy box set, they want to do something quite similar (3 movies plus one extras disc).

According to the Digital Bits: “We’ve heard from a number of industry sources we trust (and who have proven their reliability in the past) in the last few weeks.”

And these are the re-released Special Edition forms of the movie — according to Lucasfilm, the originals don’t even exist anymore. Which, if true, is a shame, but I do understand Lucas’ wish for a definitive vision of his movies. (Even if Greedo shoots first now). It’s too bad they haven’t been preserved for history’s sake.

Indy moved up

The Digital Bits is reporting that the Indiana Jones trilogy has been moved up from 11/4 to 10/21 to avoid competition with Finding Nemo.

Sounds good to me, early Christmas gift incoming!

Bummer the Packer game got called on rain Monday night in the 3rd quarter. But to be honest, we were playing Madden by halftime anyway.

They need their offensive tackles back. Having Favre get hurt in the preseason just isn’t worth it. Don’t start him if you don’t have to. And besides, don’t the Pack need to figure out who #2 and #3 QBs will be?

You call THIS archaeology?!

You call THIS archaeology?! — Indiana Jones

The Digital Bits has the press release and details on the upcoming Indiana Jones box set. Set to be released 11/4, the box set will include the three movies (in anamorphic or full frame) and a fourth disc with featurettes.

I’ll have to agree with the boys at the Digital Bits. I was expecting a lot more from a special edition. If they made us wait this long for the movies, they could have at least done it right. Oh wait, it’s George Lucas. He’ll want us to buy it again and again.

Damn him!

Whoa

Watch me in Quicktime. Or Xine. Or Mplayer. Whatever your mojo, but watch it.

Unless you’re Slivers and don’t want spoilers.

Daredevil

Daredevil Movie

So we went to see Daredevil last night. Suffice to say, I’m the only one who liked it. It was exactly what I expected, no less, no more. Affleck’s acting was, in my opinion, spot on for a blind man. Elektra was ok, and Bullseye was right on.

Daredevil was one of the few comic books I read when I was a kid. I was more into baseball cards than comic books, and really didn’t even own any. Daredevil was one of the few I did read. While the revenge motive was new for the movie to get people going, I thought it was ok, even though it was a different twist than what the comic book had.

I think it was better than X-Men, which I thought was ok.

They’re all signed up for a sequel anyway, so now that we know the backstory, maybe people will accept the 2nd one more. (And the Kevin Smith cameo was good. :))
